COLORADO SPRINGS – Our Lady of Walsingham Academy (OLWA), Colorado Springs’ first classical Catholic high school, announced an important transition in their leadership team. Effective June 1, 2024, Mark Langley will be stepping down as Headmaster and Andrew Rossi will assume the role.
“Being the second Headmaster at Our Lady of Walsingham Academy is both a privilege and a profound responsibility,” says Rossi. “I am deeply honored to lead the school and I am committed to fostering an environment where every student can flourish academically and spiritually.”
This announcement will be formally made at the graduation ceremony on May 25. Langley’s tenure has been marked by remarkable achievements, such as a renaming and rebranding, and steadfast dedication to the high school’s mission. Under his leadership, OLWA has experienced significant growth and academic excellence.
“Serving as the first Headmaster of Our Lady of Walsingham Academy has been one of the greatest honors of my career,” says Langley. “I am immensely proud of what we have accomplished together, and I am confident that the Academy will continue to thrive under Mr. Rossi’s capable leadership.”
Rossi, who has been with OLWA since it’s founding in 2021, currently teaches philosophy, medieval history, Latin, theology, medieval literature, Euclidian mathematics and drama. A graduate of Thomas Aquinas College, he began teaching theology, history, and mathematics at St. Augustine Academy, a Catholic classical school in Ventura, CA. A year into teaching, Rossi began a Master’s program in scriptural theology from St. Augustine Institute where he completed his thesis on prime matter and the importance of understanding Aristotle’s physics. He loves studying St. Thomas Aquinas and can be found playing soccer, football or golf in his free time. A life-long Catholic, he loves how rooted the Catholic faith is in nature and divine revelation, and how the rituals and prayers help bring him closer to a relationship with Jesus.
The Board of Directors has expressed their full support for this leadership transition. “We are grateful for Mark’s exceptional service and are excited to see Andrew bring his vision and passion to the Headmaster role,” said Jacob Heal, Board Chairman. “This transition marks a new chapter for our school, one filled with promise and continued commitment to our educational mission.”
